Juniorettes

Call to JASM

(4 pages)

June 26-28  Tallahassee

Juniorettes, ages 12 – 18, are the youngest members of the GFWC Florida Federation of Women’s Club. The program for middle and high school girls offers fun, friendship and community service. The girls learn how to organize and operate their non-profit clubs with rewarding results. Many use their Juniorette service for Bright Future Scholarships and National Honor Society credits.

Juniorettes continue to grow throughout Florida. Each club must be sponsored by a general or junior club that provides an advisor and guidance.

Each club has its own personality and determines what is most needed in its home community. All share the General Federation of Women’s Club’s  department guidelines offering activities in art, conservation, education, home life, international affairs and public affairs.

The girls have an annual convention called JASM (Juniorette Annual State Meeting) where they can build friendships and exchange ideas with Juniorettes across the state. Some clubs are still called Little Women, a term that preceded the state name Juniorettes.

Juniorettes also elect their own state director and officers who serve annual terms. Jenny Bridwell of Little Women of Fernandina Beach is the current Director of Juniorette Clubs and her state project is “Just for Kids”.

We invite you to review our monthly online newsletter, Juniorette Scoop to learn more about our current clubs. For more specific information about Juniorettes, contact Joanne Walker, Advisory Chairman at jbwjbw1@verizon.net or 727-525-2914.

Juniorettes are our future & besides that…they are just plain fun!
